Pakistan: Seminar on child labour

On March 23rd the All Pakistan Federation of United Trade Unions (APFUTU), affiliated to the UITBB arranged a workshop on the theme of AWARENESS ABOUT CHILD LABOUR & Responsibility of the Society. Hundreds Child labourers and their parents participated. The Provincial Minister of Education Mian imran Masood and Secretary General of APFUTU were the Chief Guests in this seminar. The seminar recommended that the Government of Pakistan made sure that the CHILD LABOUR  ACT 1991, is implemented in the whole country without any further delay and that it provided financial support to the families under the line of poverty, in an effort to prevent children to be  involved in the Child labour, as well as many other enforcement measures in the fields of health, education and penalties for illegal practices related to child labour.
