DECLARATION by the UITBB Coordinating Committee for Africa on Guinea Conakry

Moussa Kanouté in the center discussing with trade union colleagues from Africa The UITBB affiliated unions from Africa firmly condemn the crimes and atrocities committed in Guinea Conakry against innocent civilians, including women. They express their solidarity with the workers as well as with the entire people of Guinea and support all initiatives and actions aimed at restoring constitutional order, democracy, peace and security in the country. We the members of the UITBB Coordinating Committee for AFRICA are shocked by this situation that dishonours Guinea and Africa and we urge the international community and world public opinion to take the necessary measures to ensure that the people of Guinea Conakry regain and enjoy free exercise of all their rights as citizens.
